An annual check helps maintain your gliders value and longevity, and increases safety during flight. It is recommended to have paragliders professionally inspected once a year. Basisrausch has many years of experience in service work and uses state-of-the-art, millimeter‑accurate technologies to ensure maximum precision, quality, and safety.
Precision: The paraglider lines are measured using Leica laser technology. The laser runs along an IGUS rail system, enabling a highly precise measurement process. All data is stored directly in our database, including corrective trim adjustments.
The canopy’s air permeability is measured using a professional porosimeter from the Swiss manufacturer JDC. The fabric tear resistance is measured with a precision force meter with drag needle to determine the material’s tear strength. Basisrausch developed this “Betsometer” device in collaboration with Pesola Präzisionswaagen specifically for the requirements of paraglider fabrics.
Quality and safety: We carefully inspect your glider, including the lines, line attachments, risers, maillons, canopy material, and internal structure. For this, your glider is tensioned across its entire length and width, including the lines, using a suitable suspension system. This optimal positioning of the fabric and lines allows us to reliably detect wear, hidden damage, or material fatigue through manual inspection.
Line strength: The minimum breaking strength of the paraglider lines specified by the manufacturer is checked using a fully automated line‑breaking machine. The most heavily loaded lines in the glider are removed, tested to breaking point on our machine, and then replaced with new lines. If your paraglider is affected by this interval, we will contact you to discuss the process.
After completing the annual check, we issue an inspection report confirming the airworthiness of your glider and provide you with all detailed data. Do you have questions about the annual check? No problem – all inspections are carried out in our atelier, and we are happy to help. Contact us.
To make planning your short flying break easier, we ensure that all work on your equipment is completed within 3–4 working days after the booked inspection date.
